It’s being called “The Summer of Lost Luggage” due to an overwhelming amount of, well, you guessed it, lost luggage. Travel can be chaotic, and this is one of the most frustrating things that can happen. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to make sure lost luggage is a thing of the past.
Consider using a GPS-enabled luggage tracker. There are a number of different devices on the market, and they all work in basically the same way. You attach the tracker to your bag, then you use your phone or computer to track its location in real time. That way, if your bags get misplaced, you’ll know exactly where they are and can specify to the airline.

Fortunately, you don’t have to charge your AirTag, nor do you have to throw it away once the battery dies. Instead, after about a year of daily use (which is how long AirTag should last), you can replace the battery in under 30 seconds.
This is a genius way to keep an eye on your family’s luggage. Plus, you don’t have to rely on the airline to locate it. You can even make it stylish!
If you’re not an Apple user there’s also Tile which we consider to be just as good. Tile is another Bluetooth tracker that helps you locate lost items. Just attach the Tile to your luggage and use the app to track it down. With these holders, you can also attach the Tile to your keys or purse, so you’ll never lose them again.
Pro tip: Keep the GPS tracker inside your bag to avoid damage or theft.
What happens if your luggage lands in another country? The GPS tags for lost luggage aren’t going to be fool-proof, but they can help with some headaches. If this happens the tags should be able to detect their last location, enabling you to better coordinate with the airlines (hopefully!).
It can be so frustrating when your luggage goes missing, especially if you’re on a trip and have no other clothes or toiletries. That’s why it’s important to take some precautions to make sure your luggage doesn’t get lost in the first place. There are a number of different trackers on the market, so you can find one that fits your needs and budget. Another option is to use brightly colored ribbons or tags on your luggage, so that it will be easy to spot at the baggage carousel. Whatever method you choose, just make sure you take steps to keep track of your things while traveling.
Have you ever lost luggage? What tips do you have for keeping track of your belongings?

Hmmmm Looks like something I could use
I use them for a bunch of things already! Travel bags is even better!
My luggage was lost years ago, this is a must have!
Oh, adding to cart now!
Will be getting this since last June my luggage was lost but thankfully they did find it. I always like to have a unique luggage tag to see my bags easier.
Nice!
I could really use this for traveling domestically and internationally.
Genius!!
Going to use these tags on my next trip. My luggage once got lost for six weeks! Took a trip to Europe.
Doesn’t help if your luggage is on another continent!
It’s certainly not foolproof. However, if the airline is having trouble locating your bag, both Apple and Tile will ping its last location, and with a long battery life that should get its correct location to you. This will allow you to at least coordinate with the airline better.
everything ill be needing checking things out an add them to my cart is so much fun
Great idea!
Yess! Such a good hack. Although I watched a guy on YouTube once who found out his luggage ended up in a distant country and he called the airline and told them where it was and they denied it. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to any of us, ever!
heard of GPS tags but completely forgot about them! smart and easy investment
